On Friday, April 13, 2012, Alpacas for Autism will host the first “Spring Fling” banquet and live auction at the Marriott, 10800 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas. Proceeds from the banquet will benefit Alpacas for Autism, a nonprofit organization with a unique mission, “To improve the quality of life for individuals with Autism by teaching the fiber arts and using alpacas to improve social skills.” Approximately 200 people are expected to attend this exciting and educational evening.

Event Details
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with networking, cash bar and light refreshments. Guests will be invited to view the variety of auction items donated by local businesses, crafters and fiber artists as well as several items produced by entrepreneurs who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. After a gourmet dinner featuring a gluten-free menu, the fun begins! At 8 p.m. local auctioneer Larry Schneider heats up the bidding as mistress of ceremonies Cathy Weaver introduces each item. When the gavel falls on the final item, guests will still have a chance to win a beautiful custom-designed centerpiece.
